Background
68 Classifieds was started because we ran a few classified websites but couldn't find a suitable program to fit our needs. So instead of modifying one we decided to build our own. 68 Classifieds was started in 2002 and now has over 100 successful sites running the program.
Why did you choose EcommerceTemplates?
We actually started using a free competitor but quickly found the support was... well as to be expected from a free product. Also the coding seemed to be complex and not easy to work with. We then did some research and found Ecommerce Templates. At first we were hesitant to buy because we had never purchased a shopping cart before, but after several emails and the money back guarantee we decided to make the purchase. It has been by far the best product we have ever purchased online! Excellent support, great documentation, constant new features, and above all very easy to modify.
How long did it take to set up your store?
It honestly took about 30 minutes to get everything up and going. It was so simple I couldn't believe it.
What has been the biggest challenge?
We wanted to have a customer section on our website so past purchasers could login and download upgrades, get special incentives, and various other things in a member only section. After some thought we decided to use the already included orderstatus section as a building block to integrate this. Now our customers have their own private section and we do not have to worry about theft. Also with the release of V4.8.0 of Ecommerce Templates it has an ip block portion which allows us to block ip ranges that are known for fraud orders. This is a big plus in our industry.
How are sales / projected sales going?
Sales have been steady since the beginning. We were online for 7 days before our first order and they have been coming in ever since.
