Google Checkout and Ecommerce Templates

Ecommerce Templates has worked very closely with Google to be among the first shopping carts to support Google's new payment system, Google Checkout.

As the integration has been done for you, receiving payments through your store using Google Checkout is a very simple process.

1. Obtain your Merchant ID and Key from the Google Checkout sign up wizard under Settings > Integration after logging in and signing up there.
2. Place those in the fields provided in the Ecommerce Template payment provider admin page
3. Set the callback URL in your Google Checkout Merchant Center and you are ready to go.

New Ecommerce Template customers

If you are new to Ecommerce Templates then after purchasing the Dreamweaver, Frontpage, CSS, Generic or Golive version you will first need to upload all the store files to the server and make the database connection before following the above steps. All the general set up instructions for your store are outlined in our downloadable User Manual.

How it works

Once you have completed the steps, you should be all set to allow your customers to purchase through your store using Google Checkout. Customers can easily identify the Google payment method with the checkout button that will be generated on your cart and checkout pages

You can also use the credit card logos offered by Google to reinforce the message

Once the purchase has gone through you will be notified via email of the transaction and it will also be posted to your Ecommerce Template admin orders page. You will also probably want to sign into your Google Checkout Merchant Center to verify the details of the order. The buyer will also receive notification of the sale via email.

Please note that our digital download plug-in is currently incomaptible with Google Checkout

• Users of Google adwords will have a small shopping cart icon added to their adword listing to show that they accept payments through Google. They will also receive credits towards the processing fees depending on adword spend

$50 Adwords Coupon

Valid only for new Google Checkout merchants with a self-managed AdWords account. Merchants must
(i) be properly referred by Ecommerce Templates
(ii) use an approved implementation of Google Checkout, and
(iii) successfully process at least three (3) valid payment transactions and at least $500 of valid payments as a merchant through Google Checkout.

The promotional credit will be distributed directly to the merchant within 30 days after the end of the month in which the merchant satisfies the criteria outlined in (i) and (ii). Merchants will be charged for advertising that exceeds the promotional credit. Merchants will need to suspend their ads if they do not wish to receive additional charges beyond the free credit amount. Subject to ad approval, valid registration and acceptance of the Google AdWords Program standard terms and conditions. The promotional credit is non-transferable and may not be sold or bartered. Offer may be revoked at any time for any reason by Google Inc. One promotional credit per merchant. For new AdWords Program registrants, an activation fee of $5 will be applied and deducted from the promotion credit. Offer valid only for merchants in the United States signing up for Google Checkout through the referral link provided. The promotional credit will expire approximately 90 days from the date the credit is issued.
