Please note that you can upgrade from any previous version to the latest version in just one go! You don't have to install all updaters between your version and the current version.

There have been many, many changes and improvements for the new version, but some of the main new features available in this Major Release are...

Fully CSS Cart Checkout.
This is a feature that has been often requested to give you more flexibility and control over the checkout phase. With the checkout fully CSS it will behave better on mobile devices and enable you to do much more customization. You can make any modifications you like, however we suggest you use our base CSS file here which you can either use "as is" or as a basis for your own modification...

Please do not update to v6.5 without first adding the CSS file to your site as otherwise it will be difficult to navigate the checkout.

Fully CSS Cart Search - With Filters.
Along with the Cart Checkout, the Cart Search page is now also fully CSS. But we've also added support for the Product Attribute Filters in the search page making it a much more powerful tool to allow your customers to find the products they want.

Alternate Product ID Multiplier.
The Alternate Product ID (or Alt Prod ID) feature has long been a powerful feature of the cart. Using this feature you can create product options that modify the product id, and this new product id can have it's own weight, stock, price and so on. However one of the problems has been the time it takes to create all those new products and that is where this Alt Prod ID Multiplier comes in. With this feature the cart will automatically work out all the resulting Product ID's from a set of options and you can then create those ID's with a click and administer them in a handy list instead of having to alter each one individually. The cart will now also treat the product id's you choose not to create in the same way as Out Of Stock items.

Product Packages.
You can now select groups of products to sell together as a "Product Package" when you sell a product package, the line items for each product will be handled in the admin orders page. Stock will be deducted from each line item as necessary and updating any of the product items will update the package price / weight etc automatically. Discounts can be added as normal to Product Packages to create incentives for purchasing the package.

Option Tool Tips
As a way of better explaining the product options you can now add Tool Tips if required. From a simple text note to your own custom HTML markup you can add whatever you need to get the message across.

Customizable Product Page Layout
In the same way that you can specify the Product Detail Page layout so that you can specify the order that the items appear in the page, you can now do the same with the Product Page layout. You can specify the order of all product elements such as image, options, buy button, product name, discounts, review stars and so on. Any order you like!!

More Admin Confirmation Emails.
Previously the cart was able to send confirmation emails when a new order arrived but now you can choose a confirmation email when a new affiliate signs up, a new review is posted or a new customer account is created. All these emails are optional so you can choose just the ones that are of interest to you.

Pack Together Exemption
Products can be packed separately or packed together and this has been a feature of the cart since the beginning. However now you can choose to pack products together but set those awkward or bulk products to be packed on their own or "Pack Together Exempt".

Shipping Flags on Final Checkout Page.
As part of the CSS makeover we have also added the shipping flags to the final cart checkout page. This means that your customers can check the cost of say adding or removing shipping insurance without feeling they have to go through checkout again.

Gift Certificate Entry on First Checkout Screen.
You can now allow customers to enter gift certificates and coupons on the first checkout screen. The system now permits the use of either or both if required.

No Loyalty Points for Wholesale and Discount Clients
You can now set customer accounts which have the Wholesale or Percentage Discount attributes to not assign Loyalty Points if required.

Add Discounts via the Product Quick Entry
You can now quickly add discounts to products via the product Quick Entry feature allowing you to add a discount to a whole page of products with just two clicks.

Ask A Question Extra Parameters
You can now add several extra parameters to the Ask A Question page.

We've released a Hotfix today to address a couple of minor issues...

In the PHP version when you edit a product option the tooltip heading could be set to the product option working name. This is an important fix as it could cause a tooltip to be generated when not required with the text of the option working name.

Files affected: vsadmin/inc/incprodopts.php (PHP Only)

In the PHP version when using the extra parameters with the Ask A Question feature the values set by the customer were not being included in the email and this has now been fixed.

Files affected: emailfriend.php (PHP Only)

In the customer account page, clicking on the heading for the sections, Orders, Address Management, Gift Certificates and so on would cause the browser to scroll to the top and this has been corrected.

Files affected: vsadmin/inc/incclientlogin.asp/php

When using text (as opposed to HTML) format emails, the "review" links would have an & instead of just an & in the URL.

Files affected: vsadmin/inc/incemail.asp/php

Renaming an email in the mailing list to one which already existed would cause a server error and this has now been fixed.

Files affected: vsadmin/inc/incmailinglist.asp/php
