Hi! I tried to complete two PayPal direct payments tonight and got an "Internal Error (10001)" message.
I was able to log onto PayPal and capture the payments there without trouble, so it appears there is an issue with my store, not a PayPal problem.
I created a third order just a bit ago, paid with my credit card via PayPal direct, tried to capture the payment in my Admin, and got the same error.
I have not made any changes to my PayPal API data in better part of a year. I have made some database changes to my Products table recently.
Any suggestions on what is going on or where I should look for errors? I'm stumped. My ECT is version 5.6.1.

Hi DeeAnna, in the admin under Paypal Direct can you check that authorize/capture is selected and not just authorize.

Hi, Marlene,
Thank you for the reply!
I have the transaction type for PP Direct set to "authorize only". That is what it has been set to for months -- no recent change there.

It may be that it is an issue with the store, we don't know yet but this wouldn't be the proof of that I'm afraid as PayPal will use lots of different API's for different payment types. Can you get on to PayPal and ask them if they know what could be causing this. After you made these changes to your products table, were you still able to make payments through PayPal?

Hi, Vince,
Remember that test order I placed last night? When I tried to capture the amount via PP Direct last night, I got that "internal error" message.
I just tried to capture the funds for this "order" this morning ... and it went through fine.
So it looks like you are right -- it WAS a PayPal issue.
They've made a LOT of changes to their interface (and it runs even slower than before), and I'm wondering if this temporary "error" thing is related somehow to all of their updates.
I am sorry to have bothered y'all. If I have a clue that an issue might be a temporary glitch, I try to give it some time before digging into things and asking for help.
I had never seen this error before, and it really threw me.
