Is there a way to download certain categories only as it relates to Product Images?

I need to update images in a certain category so I selected that category then selected Product Images and clicked the GO button but I got all my images for all products.

Also: Do I just upload my images .csv like the product .csv?

I looked closer at the Product Images download .csv and it appears only products with already defined images are included?

Is that correct?

If it is correct, how to I add images to products that don't yet have any images?

I already paid for another year of updaters but it still says Pre-Sales only.

I have a receipt number if needed?

Hi

You should be able to add images to existing products, have a look here http://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/help.asp#csv and if that doesn't help, let us know what problem you are having.

Hi Andy,

The problem I am having is that if a product exists in my database but doesn't have at least one image defined, that product does not show up in the images .csv when I download it from ECT.

The other issue I am having is that the image .csv download is all or nothing. How do I only download just the category I want to work on so I don't have to weed through all the other 20,000+ product images?

Hi you can add the image to the csv file you will need to know the product id to put into the first column.

imageProduct - this will contain the product id
imagesrc - this will be the path to the image
imageType - values of 0, 1 and 2 available which correspond to the Small image, Large image and Giant image.
imageNumber - this is the order of how the images should appear on the pages and is particularly useful when you have multiple small, large and / or giant images.

Thanks Sinbad. I have 3000+ new products just added so I was hoping for an easier option.

Do you know if I can just upload the new product images, or do I have to upload ALL of them each time? By all of them I mean current and new products.

I don't want to delete the current product images and my fear is if I don't include them with the new product images they will be deleted??

Hi Ron, I would recommend uploading all of them in the csv file, but you only have to ftp the new images.

Hi Sinbad,

For some reason I cannot upload all the images info at once.

The file is under 2MB and my host says I have a 6MB .csv upload limit.

I get this error when I try to upload the images .csv file:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'logevent'

/vsadmin/inc/incloginfunctions.asp, line 58
I am paying $160 per month for my VPS and the hosting company keeps telling me that the server is fine.

For what's it worth: My web host has made it so that I can upload about 40K products at one time so this image upload issue shouldn't be related to server upload limitation.

In other words: I am able to upload my 20,000 products (via .csv) at one time but I cannot upload their image data via .csv???

I am not sure if it's related or not... I was just trying to help resolve my image data upload issue.

Do I "Add to database" or "Update database" if I upload ALL image info via .csv?

IMO: I should only "Add to database" when I want to add new images for new products since I am not changing current product images.

Am I wrong?

So I took a chance and tried "Add to database"

All went well for the first 2000 images then I got this message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

/vsadmin/inc/inccsv.asp, line 200

I see on my website than many of the products have images now, but I have NO IDEA to know which ones didn't get this recent update.

ALSO: I only added the thumbnails to the database but the thumbnail images are also showing up as the main image.

Why are the thumbnail images showing up as main images?

It sound slike there may be a lower limit there on the csv file upload, I would upload the images in batches of 1800 for example.

You would want Add to Database for new images.

Can you show us the first 2 or 3 lines of your images csv file?
