Do you know if there are any switches for the includes file that will allow the incsearch.php to search the product options as well as the products for the latest ECT version?

I had some custom code done a while back but it doesn't work with the new version.

There was also an updatestore.php file that would sort the admin categories alphabetically. I can't seem to be able to find it again for the new version I'm updating to.

Hi Bob,
I'm afraid you can't search options, no. You could use the extra search parameters though.

Is this what you're referring to here? http://www.ecommercetemplates.com/free_downloads.asp#sort

That is one of the scripts that I was looking for. It orders the Categories in the admin alphabetically which is one of the things I was looking for.

I guess I'll have to find someone to code the search.php page so it can search the options. Many of our product id numbers appear in the product options so we need that capability.

Thanks for the link though. That helps.

Hi,

Rather than go down the custom code route, why don't you just download you're inventory as a csv from the admin and add all the options per product to the search parameters field and re-upload the csv file?

Sorry, but I don't understand. I should download all my product details and do what with them? Not sure what you mean by "add to search parameters". The options aren't listed in the product cvs file anyway.

My product options have product id numbers associated with them and listed in the product option description that the customer needs to be able to search for.

Could you elaborate on how to do this? Thanks.

At the bottom of the product admin pages you'll find a field labeled "Add. Search Params". Those product id numbers can be added to that field and then be searchable for the product. I would try it on one product manually through the admin and if that works ok, add the rest through the csv file as Phil suggests.

If you have a few thousand products or options and you're struggling for time we could more than likely do this for you in a couple of hours or so. Click on my name and send me an email if you need some help.

GOOD TO KNOW.

Q. for the search param filed, can you add up to how many params

And I assume they are divided by a comma???

Let me give an example, If I have the main product as pID eo-main

Then are you saying in that product search param area if the main item has say, four options/children I can add:

eo-main-1,eo-main-2,eo-main-3,eo-main-4

Would that work and is that the syntax???

Thanks!

The terms can be separated by spaces but I'm not sure it works as you're suggesting.

In Bob's example above he says he has part numbers as options, so say the part numbers were abc123, abc124, abc125 etc in the additional search params filed for the product they apply to he would enter

abc123 abc124 abc125
