Hi All,
I am nearly there on my latest ECT site and thought I would invite feedback to see what others think.
Here's the URL: Link Removed!
It's using v6.2.1 and takes advantage of the new css layout on the home, product and proddetail pages.
I am still working on adding products and copy but the main guts are there.
Please let me know what you think.
Regards,
David |

Hi David
Great looking site - very clean and fits very well for the range of products on offer. I was going to say the white space below the left hand navigation looks a bit blank but I see now that's used for the recently viewed items.
Apart from the design, one thing I really like is the note at the top of the page that you ship worldwide, I wish more stores would do that - it's so frustrating trying to find that sort of information on a site sometimes.

Hi,
I agree with Andy. This is a great looking site. I would love to give you something to improve but so far I'm really not seeing anything.
Thanks,
Stewart

Very nice really like the cart page explanation of login or checkout as guest, cuts down on customer confusion.

Hi,
Thanks for all the feedback. Glad to hear positive comments.
Sinbad - the cart explanation is done through includes.php Here is what I have if it helps anyone wanting to do the same:
$xxNotLI='<strong>Existing customer?</strong>'; $xxTLIP='If you already have an account please'; $xxOr='<br><strong>New customer?</strong> To create an account please'; $xxToCrAc='<br><strong>Don\'t want an account?</strong> To checkout as a guest click the checkout button below';
Regards,
David |

I really like that too. I'm copying that to my site. Makes much better sense than what I have.
BTW, very clean intuitive site.

Very professional and easy to navigate. It's very clear and concise! I like the verbiage about checking out without logging in. Where did you put the code in the Includes file or the Language file? Is this correct and may I use it?
$xxNotLI='<strong>Existing customer?</strong>'; $xxTLIP='If you already have an account please'; $xxOr='<br><strong>New customer?</strong> To create an account please'; $xxToCrAc='<br><strong>Don\'t want an account?</strong> To checkout as a guest click the checkout button below';
Great Job!!!
Great job!

Hi,
Thanks for all the comments.
Jennye - You would put that in includes.php (please note it is for php) as this will not be overwritten by updates and of course you can use it.

David

It worked, and it looks fantastic, except I don't seem to have a checkout button below. Where might I add that?

Oops! My bad, I was looking at the wrong page - it is perfect and I thank you very sincerely! It was exactly what I was wanting for that page.

The only thing I see is that the cart language isn't quite right....there is no "Checkout button below." There is only a "continue shopping" button. Which in itself is confusing since the sentence before says, "if you'd like to get STARTED browsing our store, click here"
Mine reads, "you can still checkout as a guest" ---- not saying it's better, just less confusing perhaps?
And can we get a button there that says Start Shopping, rather than Continue Shopping?

I love the You can still checkout as a guest verbiage. As for the Continue Shopping, I went to the Language file and changed it to:
You May Start or Continue Shopping
I'm not sure whether or not I like that wording, perhaps you have a suggestion.
Thanks for all the great ideas and input!
