Help!

I used the .asp updater yesterday and started creating the site thereafter. All was working fine yesterday however, when I tried to log onto my control panel today I got the following error (http://www.acornmonitoring.co.uk/catalogue/vsadmin/login.asp);

I also noticed that when clicking to view cart or products and categories from home page header is causing further errors (homepage is acornmonitoring.co.uk/catalogue);

I have tried to re-run the updater since but the problem was not fixed. I am using the ASP version on a 2014 SQL Server. Google troubleshooting points me in the direction of differences between date and time formats used by the software and the SQL Server.

Please can you provide me with some support for fixing the issue?

Did you do anything between it working and not working? It sounds like there are database issues but those don't usually happen without some changes somewhere. YOu didn't run the sql wizard updatestore.asp file again or something like that did you?

Hi Andy,

I purchased and ran the updater in the morning, then spent 10 hours working on the catalogue with no problems, all was updating fine throughout.

I literally turned on the PC this morning and encountered these errors.

That's really odd then, can you ask your host if there have been any server changes in the meantime - maybe something was altered on their end.

Our Database Hosts Winserve have come back with the following;

HI Chris,

We have not made any changes to your database or its server.
This is usually down to conflicting date/time formats.
Your DB user is set to British English , so date/times inserted into it should be in that format.

You can set this includes.asp so it uses the UK date format in the admin / database

admindateformat=2

Ok it makes sense to change to the UK format, but I cannot log into the control panel to change anything through admin.

Please can you elaborate where I will find this setting to change within the data files?

That would go in vsadmin/includes.asp rather than through the admin. You can edit the file in a text editor.

Unfortunately uploading the admindateformat=2 did not solve the problem.

To rule out any corruption with this databse on the sql2014 server. I have started afresh by uploading a completely new eCommerce template blank catalogue upto our host using their sql 2016 server.

So when I run the script at /updatestore.asp, the script is getting stuck midway through the upload with the following error;

Done creating database tables.
Starting to populate database.
Adding admin table data
Adding alternaterates table data
Adding cart table data

connection also with admindateformat=2 within includes.asp.


I have tried to run the script both with and without admindateformat=2 but this does not resolve the problem.

Do you have access to the database tables in your hosting control panel? It does indeed seem to be a problem with the UK date formatting but I haven't seen it come up here before. I'm also unclear why it suddenly started happening on your store

No I cannot access the data tables in on the SQL servers. They do have a mySQL database availability which you can access the tables but everything purchased so far from yourselves is for the ASP version.

I'm also confused as to why this issue arose but surely your templates work on UK servers?

The software works fine on UK servers and I haven't seen this error before. I have just followed up by email.
