I have set up many ECT stores. However not super recently, more updating.

I'm attempting to set up a new store. I created the database, assigned a user, and put all the info into db_conn_open.php.

I have triple-checked all the information and I still get an error!!!!

"Database Connect Error (2054) The server requested authentication method unknown to the client..."

Could this be a php version issue? Any other ideas as to what the problem could be?

Have you asked your host to look into this? They are in a better position to troubleshoot problems like this, but if they can't help then let us know.

All I can figure is the database user password was too simple. I changed the php version and everything worked. I changed it back and is stopped working for that user...
