Hi all,

Does anyone know how to increase admin the login time? It seems if I don't stay active in admin, it will log out somewhere in the range of about 5 mins. I would like to increase this to about 20 mins.

Thanks,
Brad

Hi Brad

Can you check in your includes file to see if there is the following entry
$padssfeatures=TRUE;

If so, that will cause a logout after 15 minutes of admin inactivity & would also cause the admin login password to require changing every 90 days. Personally if that is present then I would remove it or you can comment it out.

As for extending the duration I am not sure there is a mechanism to do so but if there is then once Vince is back in the morning I'm sure he can assist / advise.

It is / was a PA-DSS compliance feature, a rather annoying one at that IMHO.

Thank you Steve. I checked and I do not have $padssfeatures in my includes file.

Hi Brad

OK, I can't think of anything else that may impact your time in the admin.

Just out of curiosity which version of ECT are you on with the affected store? I think Vince may be able to advise more so when he sees this.

Hi Brad
On v7.4.6 and without the $padssfeatures parameter you should stay logged in for the duration of the PHP session. If the PHP session is set to a very short time then it will log you out of the admin but it could also mean that your customers lose cart contents etc. But how are you logged out? If you have cookies set then you wouldn't normally notice that the PHP session had ended as you would be automatically logged in again.
