 the defailt country has changed on my website

Hello
had an issue of the default country has changed to northern ireland from united kingdom

but only when people pay with ebay which i put into the site a few weeks back

how do i change this back

What type of PayPal integration are you using? For instance, is it PayPal Standard, PayPal Express, PayPal Direct Payments? The reason I ask is because those are no longer supported by PayPal and have been replaced by PayPal Checkout which is fully integrated in the shopping cart. Is switching to that an option?

If you're using the old PayPal Express integration then I really, really would try the Express Checkout flow through the new PayPal Checkout integration. Have you tried this?

Hi Ian,
Can you login to your admin and go to orders admin > payment providers > see full list of payment processors and let us know what you have enabled there please.

*If you also see the message "congratulations your PayPal account is connected" you can use PayPal Checkout

If you have PayPal Express Payments shown as enabled that needs to be disabled as it's now deprecated.

*Scroll down and enable PayPal Checkout by clicking modify > check the enable box > there are several configuration options available including PayPal Express

Using Ecommerce Plus PHP v7.6.5

I have a very similar problem:

In the Payment Providers, The payment provider says PayPal Checkout.

If in the 'view orders' screen, order lines have the green AVS CVV box showing - then all appears as it should.

However, if the green box is not there (on the order line) then:
The country is incorrectly shown as Northern Ireland,
The County is missing
The phone number is missing
In the PayPal notification email the country is correct (Unite Kingdom)
In the ECT notification email - county is missing, phone number is missing, country is incorrectly stated as Northern Ireland.

The phone number and county are also missing from the data export.

Apologies - I put this is in the wrong Forum - should be under PHP - (I arrived here from a search) but may apply to both??.

Looking at the PayPal settings, I had:

Express Checkout: Add PayPal Express Checkout
so now have changed that to
Express Checkout: Do'nt Add PayPal Express

Now awaiting orders to see if the above was the problem

Is it possible that these were just unauthorized orders? That is, someone started checking out but didn't actually complete the checkout process?

- these were/are authorised orders. If affects about 50% of orders.

Status in PayPal is 'Completed'

'Type' in PayPal is 'Express Checkout Payment'
'Address Status' in Paypal is 'Confirmed'

There is no shipping involved and no tax.

The PayPal emails look correct.

- but the ECT emails lack phone number and county (no letter r)
- These fields are also missing from the ECT database - and the country is incorrectly set to Northern Ireland (which is why I posted here).

Since I changed Express Checkout to Do'nt Add PayPal Express -orders have been OK - but only a few have come in so far.

Sorry to hear about the problems but I've found the cause of the orders being incorrectly set with an Northern Irish address and I've added the fix for that to the updater. In my tests the emails were coming through with a phone number and the county seemed ok. Could you possibly try updating and see if the other issues get sorted with the update for the NI problem?

Since I set Express Checkout: to "Do'nt Add PayPal Express" orders have been completed correctly (country correct, phone number comes through, county comes through) .
I'm happy not to use PayPal express .
If the problem comes back I will re-apply the updater- otherwise I'll wait for PHP v7.6.5 to be updated.
