Dependent discounts

I'd like to be able to offer a discount that is only applied when conditions are met. E.g. buy any product, get product B for $10 off. No discount when they only buy product B. It's something I am getting to actually need to market effectively, and not having it available, or having to fight with kludges, is getting very tiresome. I've been using ECT for nearly two decades, since whenever version 1.01 went out, and the thought of changing carts fills me with trepidation... but I seriously need to be able to have a "buy 4 get one free" or similar with my face masks. I've tried multiple iterations on the integrated discount settings, but have never been able to get this to work for an entire category, excluding others. If there's a way to do it... fantastic! But dependent discounts are so widely used, I honestly can't understand why they aren't supported by ECT. http://www.sleepingbaby.net/ Using ECT 7.2.2 for php
