I'm not sure what happened with my home page, but header, side bar and footer are fine, but the content from my shopping cart software is gone. (I was adding my SSL certificate graphic to the page). It's been a while since I set this all up, but I was expecting to just be able to direct the "Home" page to page-home.php and be good to go, but I'm getting a 404 error? What am I missing? I did just update the site, but that was after this happened. All my other pages are intact.

I have to revise my last statement. My other pages have a Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() warning at the top... but maybe this is related to the update and not the home page issue?

Fixed the other pages by uploading latest download of custom URL plugin, but still don't know how to fix the home page...

Hi in Wordpress you should be able to set the home page as per the pdf instructions in the template files

quote:
The first thing to do is to define the home page.

In the WordPress admin go to Pages > Add New and call the new page Home

Now go to Settings > Reading and under Front page displays choose “static” and Front page: Home.

quote:
The home page can be edited under Appearance > Editor > Home Page Page Template (page-home.php)

All that is still set and looks correct. The permalink is set to http://www.shopironwood.org/page-home.php, but if I try to view the page, I get the 404 error. In the page-home.php all the info looks correct, it just isn't pulling it up when you go to the website. It defaults to the WP page when I pull up the website.

Yes, but there is no content! slider, categories, etc. Only the header, side bar, and footer are there. The default paragraph heading of "Home Page" is WP default. I don't know how to get it to pull the information that is in the page-home.php file and display it on the home page. I didn't move that file on the server, but it's acting like the path is broken. Where should it be located for the theme to find it?

Okay. that is where it is. What could be the reason that it's not directing to the file?

Hi

You shouldn't set a permalink for the home page - it shouldn't be necessary. All you should do is create a new page called Home in the wordpress Pages admin page and then under Settings set that as the Home page.
