I took over grabbarspecialists.com and am running into the same exact problem Bob had posted here after I updated to v6.9.6

Thank You For Shopping at Our Store
Sorry, there seemed to be an error !

The error report returned by the server was:

Please Click Here to Head Back to Our Store
This occurs whether using the MD5 hash or the 128 signature key. I checked every trouble shooting possibility with no success. The response URLs are set properly with the vsadmin/wpconfirm.php and everything else is where and they way it should be. Suggestions?

Hi Marshall

Can you send me on an email with the control panel details so I can check your set up with the working demo site I have here?

Will do Andy. I did restore the old files and changed it back to the MD5 Hash so it would work for the time being.

OK, one other thing you can do is add this to includes.php $debugmode=TRUE; and run through an order. That should give you a whole list of variables that may help to track down the problem. I've just tested here again to be sure and it was working fine for me so I'm not sure why it wouldn't on your store at the moment. Remove $debugmode=TRUE; after putting through the order by the way.

Andy,
The debug did not show me anything and the problem still is not resolved.

Do you mean there was no output, either on the screen or via from the debug, or that the information there didn't help? If you did get some output, can you send it on to me?

So the content was empty for the debug, I'll see what we can check next.

The main Store URL was set to http which made the wpconfirm.php x_Relay_URL http. The .htaccess is set to force http to https, but the x_Relay_URL had http, due to the Main URL setting. Authorize.net apparently was looking for the http version while the site was forcing the https version. The solution was setting the store's main URL to https, the same as the HTTPS Store URL.

Authorize.net now works whether using the MD5 Hash or the new Signature Key in use now.

And a thank you to Andy and Vince for their assistance.
