Thanks Dave, but all I want to do is give a 25% discount in a single category for a limited period of time.
I got what I want by manipulating the list price, but it was a LOT of work due to the fact that there are over 1000 items in the category with prices all over the place and no way to multiply the price by .75 in the quick entry feature. I had to do each price point separately; it took me about 4 hours! Then, in a short time, I'm going to have to undo all of it!! A lot of work for something that really should be automatic in an online shopping cart. People like to see the price they're paying on an item, especially if it's on sale and this, to me, should be built-in to the cart. But it isn't, so I had to spend a lot more time than I should have to be satisfied that my customers will know what they're paying and how much they're saving.
Andy, thanks for your response as well. If you folks can make this feature part of the cart, I think you'll make some of your customers very happy. If you can't, then so be it. Thanks for all you HAVE done and what you will do down the road. It's a pretty good product, but it's not perfect ... yet?
