Start adding shipping integrations so that tracking numbers can be added and shipping labels can be generated automatically from the control panel.

Yes there are plenty of third party options to do this however they only serve to make the ECT control panel less used and less useful overtime which is a bit ironic now that an iPhone and iPad app for the control panel has just been released for 7.0.5 and could be a platform to build on overtime. Third party shipping solutions easily cost $50 a month or much more, yet they make operational workflows fragmented and more complex.

Where as, for example, I would easily pay a $50+ yearly subscription for each ECT shipping integration used since it would be much superior solution bringing everything together, making workflows more simple and effective.

This would be a huge WIN WIN for everybody allowing both ECT and their customers to scale their businesses.

Hi John
If you want to send details of an integration you have in mind I'll look it over.

Sometimes its good to make your own in-house solutions, but other times its better to just develop a robust API so that you can connect to other services and companies that do their thing really well. ECT cannot be the best at everything...and if it does try to be, it will end up being good at nothing.

For shipping workflow, the integration with Ship Station is pretty nice. Focusing on being able to connect to other services is what what IMO will be a factor for whether or not ECT will survive or if it will be left in the dust. Sometimes ECT feels a little antiquated because it doesn't know how to talk with other services that business owners need. This is 2019...not 2009. /end rant

Hi Kelley, it seems there is no way to get more info on that website.
Do you have any links that talks about the integration? It might be helpful to post that.

Hi Dave,

Our USPS rep (yes, they have them! LOL!) came into the store yesterday and told me about XPS Ship.To sign up for it, you have to have a Source Code, which he gave me, but other than that, I'm not sure about what would be needed for ECT to become one of the carts available for integration of the app. I have an account and was assigned an API key, but since I use ECT and it's not listed on their Integrations page at https://xpsshipper.com/ec/#/settings/integrations/add, I can't really use it.

Vince, I'd be all too happy to send you my login info so you can geek around and see what's up, if you like. I think this type of integration into ECT would be awesome.

The usual suspects would be a good start...
USPS
FEDEX
UPS
DHL
ROYAL MAIL
DEUTSCHE POST

I would easily pay $50 to $100 per year for each of these integrations... it soon adds up to $300 to $600 per year total but still cheaper than third party tools and a nice earner for ECT.

In looking at the last post on this thread, it looks like ECT still does not integrate with XPS ship ... is that correct?

USPS told my client to get XPS Ship, which he did BEFORE finding out if it was compatible.

Any work arounds or related links on how or if there's ANY light to this topic would be appreciated.

Please provide more details for XPS Ship.
There is no support visible on their site for integration.
If I can get details I will take a look at it.

As a possible alternative, I have already created an integration using Ship Station that many ECT users are very happy with.
You can find details here:

I've got a client who's using it in their retail store to ship and wants to integrate their account with their ect website.

Here's a couple of interesting links on OBDC and CSV integrations that may offer some insight:
https://xpsship.com/custom-integrations/csv-file-integration/
https://xpsship.com/custom-integrations/odbc-integration/

I'd welcome an email from anyone who has or can help work the OBDC route
