Why does "Notifications cannot be sent..." appear?

Our theatre doesn't run shows in the summer, so I don't know when this notice started to appear.
But, when doing some test purchases I get this notice upon completion:
"Notifications cannot be sent as the account has not been created, is not active or has an invalid password."

What's causing this, and how can I prevent it?

I haven't required accounts for purchases, and, in fact, I don't have any active customer accounts.

Thanks.

Hi John
Have you set up the iPhone App to send you notifications of sales? If so, you need to set up an ECT Account as here...
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/ect-account-help.asp
Once you have done so, enter the email / password on your admin main settings page.

I have set up the App...it seemed to be successful, and I have set up the account. I just tried to set up a new one in case it hadn't "taken", but I'm told I already have an account.

If I remove the registration with the admin panel in my store, will the notification go away, or will I just make more mess?

Hi John
Yes, the notification would go away but have you entered the email and password that you used when you set up the account in the admin main settings page, in the Ecommerce Templates Account section?

Hi John
Can you send me the site FTP login details to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com) then and I'll see what is up. Can you also include the Ecommerce Templates Account login details.

Hi John
It seems that the password that was used to create the ECT Account wasn't the password you sent me. I recreated the account (it's already been activated) and now things should work properly.

Ah, PEBKAC!

Thanks Vince!

So, the notification meant exactly what it said.
