Trying to change the language for the backorder popup text but it won't update. I edited the text in the includes.php file here:

$xxSCBakO='Note: Store closed for vacation place your order now.';

Been on the phone with the server. The file is changed and uploaded live on the server, but the edits do not show up on the site.They do not know what the problem is.

I also added some text to the cart.php page. Uploaded it and, agin, the edits do not show up. Yet, the file with the changes are there on the server. ???

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow am - need help asap!

Can't you just go to your Admin Main Settings and scroll to the bottom where you can turn on "On Vacation" and put in your little write up?

If someone tries to purchase anything either by Back Order or In Stock they will get the message about you being on vacation on the Cart page.

I know this isn't exactly what you are wanting but maybe it will help.

I know. but I really want them to be able to order during the closure....

there is something else wrong. When I edit a file and upload it, nothing changes. The new file is there on the server, but the changes dont appear.

Try doing a hard refresh Ctrl+F5

Maybe its a cache issue.

You should check your pages to be sure the include lines are in this order
include "vsadmin/inc/languagefile.php";
include "vsadmin/includes.php";

If you have an older store, they it may be that include "vsadmin/inc/languagefile.php"; comes after include "vsadmin/includes.php"; and that would stop the languagefile changes that are added to includes from working.
