I have used ECT software for years. I recently updated host website to PHP 7.3, and got errors with ECT software. Error check suggested problem was deprecated use of mySQL instead of mySQLi.
So I have downloaded latest Windows PHP Updated for ECT. Looking at the incFunctions.php file it has mySQL and no mention of mySQLi.

Before going any further, can I enquire here if this is correct?

The cart still actually supports both but it depends on how you specify the database connection in the vsadmin/db_conn_open.php file. There are more details on this page...

Thanks Vince,

Just need to clarify:

a) I need to manually edit the db_conn_open.php file, changing mySQL to mySQLi etc ??
(ie the updater does not do this)

b) The lines in other files that are mySQL do not need to be changed to mySQLi ??
(though the PHP checker reports them all as errors)

Hi Chris
Yes, you need to manually edit the database connection file. The updater provides support for the new connection type but it won't actually change it for you.
The lines in the other files do not need to change as when you change the database connection, the code will use the mySQLi connection type.
This does depend on you having installed a reasonably recent updater however which has support for mySQLi.

Thanks Vince,

Downloaded updater a couple of days ago so it should be recent :-)
