unable to write reviews on the product

If it's not listed, you can add it and set it to a high number. Be sure to upload the changed file to the server. Is this you that is getting blocked? If it is, and you are entering reviews yourself on the front end of the website, perhaps do that on the back end to avoid triggering that block. I think the confusion may have been because this change was released as a Hotfix but in any case, it all seems good now.
