Let's say I have the same image set up for the thumbnail, the large and the giant image and I'm controlling the display size via CSS.

I've tweaked the detail display to eliminate the need for the giant image.

Is there a way on the product image CSV file to remove the giant image data?

Hi Bill,

First, you need this in your includes.asp "allowdeleteimages=TRUE" without the quotes.

STORE ADMIN > DATABASE UTILITY

From there select "Check for unreferenced product images" and you will get a list of images that apply. It also allows you to change the default folder from prodimages to whatever. After you get the list, select the delete option.

Warning - Before You Delete Download a backup copy of the images via the product admin in the "select action" drop down in case you delete something you did not intend to.

Bill,

I just realized your post was aimed more at removing the giant image from the product field, not the sever which is what my advice does. If you just want to remove it from the giant image field in the product, simply download the CSV image file via the product admin, delete references to the giant image (the image URL only), then upload the file you just modified keeping a backup of the original.

Thanks again, Marshall. I actually did both! I found a ton of old images my site doesn't use anymore and had never realized that was an option under the database utilities.

Over a decade of using ECT and I learn something new all the time!
