It's hard to say if that is easy as easy is a bit of a relative term. But it looks like it will be worth biting the bullet and getting it updated. Or, just clone the whole database in phpMyAdmin. Or, if it's just the products / categories you want then dump those to CSV file format and import them in the new site.
