Hi,

We have recently moved hosts due to slow server response and random downtime, and after uploading the identical set of website files to the new host, they say our website is causing the application pool to stop.

We compared using the FTP program that we have an identical set of files from the old host, our local drive, and the new host, so we are at a loss as to how our website could now be causing this, but they are adamant it's not a server/configuration issue at their end.

The only thing we have changed is the DB path in db_conn_open but we're not sure that database access is the issue, as after an application pool restart the site loads normally initially, but as soon as we click a sub page or two (or even refresh) we almost immediately get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable."

We were just wondering whether anyone has ever seen anything similar when uploading to a new host, and whether it's even feasible that the standard set of .asp files included in the template could cause this?

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: The site started working again and the latest response was "it appears that the site needs to load a user profile on the server. We have enabled this which we believe has resolved the issue". Not entirely sure what they mean by that, and it's back on error again now.

It means that they are full of it (what they are saying is completely false). Go somewhere else.
