Hi, the v7.4.8 release notes mention that the version supports a new PayPal Checkout API by use of the parameter: $newpaypalcheckout=TRUE;

The release notes also say that this API will soon be become the default.

Can anyone point us to some documentation about that new PayPal API, to help us understand the possible impact of that change?

We weren't able to find this information through a Google search and have learned to be cautious about even the slightest changes with respect to PayPal.

Note that our Payment Provider page is currently configured for "PayPal Direct Payments", "PayPal Payments Standard" and "PayPal Express Payments" which seems to have worked for many years now.

This wouldn't affect you then as this is only for those using "PayPal Checkout". But the reason why some are moving from PayPal Direct Payments to PayPal Checkout is because Direct Payments are not compatible with the 3D Secure systems which are becoming more and more required by European banks.
