Is there a limit on how many categories I can have? Also, Is there a way to have search results show categories instead of individual products?

Hi David, no, there is no limit on the number of categories.
As for search returning categories, no that is not a feature of the search.
There are filters for the search were a user can search withing a category, but I expect you already know that.
