I'm looking at the mega menu on a new site I'm setting up. On our site we've got comic book categories (DC, Marvel, Horror, etc.). I could load them all into the drop down menu OR I could just have a single link on the menu that goes to the root comic category page which shows all of the categories. As far as SEO goes, is one better than the other?

I think links on your pages to the different categories sounds like it would give the search engines more to chew on, rather than just one link to the root.
