Suddenly, All my long descriptions disappeared in the product admin froala editor window. Oddly, they still appear on the website. I reloaded both the admin and store site, and even restarted my computer. Still the same - no text in the froala editor long description panel - Text is there in the short description panel. And the long and short description show up on the website. How do I get the text back so I can continue to edit?

Could you just try with another browser (such as Chrome if you are using FireFox or vice versa) just to see if this is causing the problem?

Hi Vince,

Yes, I tried with 2 different browsers. Same issue.

It was only for one category of products. Weird.

Fortunately, I had downloaded a product data file just the other day and to my delight, when I opened it there were all the long descriptions! I uploaded and all the text and formatting are now back in place. Still dont know what went wrong.

Whew!

I wanted to update this issue as it happened to me again with a few recent products.

When I exported the CSV file I saw that there were some html characters Š—and äóì instead of quote marks " in the descriptions. When I removed the odd characters from the file and uploaded, all the descriptions reappeared in the admin.
I guess Froala doesn't like them.

Another issue with this wysiwyg is I can never upload an image. Always get something went wrong. This is starting to be a big time consuming issue.
What do I need to fix this?

Try adding write permissions to the folder that you are uploading the images to.

permissions are 7 in both images and prodimages.
Still getting same result with Safari and Chrome for Mac.

Also when I select browse, all I get are stock photos. There doesn't seem to be anyway to select another folder

Yes, that does seem to be a problem I'm afraid and I'll take a look at what is up as soon as I can. In the meantime, are you able to use FTP to upload images?

Yes I can upload images via ftp. However having to write code for images that I want to embed in the descriptions is too time consuming. I would appreciate your help when you can.
