Hi, do you have a google search console account?
There, you can tell google where your sitemap is, verify is fetchable, and troubleshoot any issues.

You should have the sitemap file in the root of your website.
There is some good reading here - https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/sitemaps/overview

Thanks,

Hi, no it does not.
With a shopping cart site (dynamic pages are created), it can be difficult to create one manually.
There are some online tools that can be used, but what I use, and is designed to work with ect, is Mike's add-on here - http://www.dlss.ca/proddetail.asp?prod=GoogleXMLSitemap

It seems you had a sitemap before, do you recall how it was created?

Thanks,
David

You can add a sitemap anytime you like.
I don't believe there are any plans for ect to add a sitemap to the updaters.
You could make a post in the suggestions forum when many new features get picked up from.

Good evening Ian

You can create your own sitemap page from opening an existing page, eg: index.php then save the page as sitemap.asp.

Then you can purchase this excellent dynamic sitemap mod from Mike @ Data Links Software Solutions
http://dlss.ca/proddetail.asp?prod=DynamicSitemap for $25 & it is a doddle to implement.

Goodaye Ian,

Another option you may like to consider is A1 Sitemap Generator >>

I have used this for years and found it to be brilliant. This is software you install on your Windows or Apple Mac PC. It is not automatic. You generate and upload a new "sitemap.xml" file to your server each time you update your website content.

Tutorials and Helpful Guides are here >>

Cool features
> Organise sitemap entries according to Page Importance, which is calculated based on how internal link juice flows in your website. Why would you do that? Read more here >>
> FTP Upload of your new Sitemap file. View details >>
> Ping the Google Search Engine after you have updated your XML sitemap. Googlebots will come and crawl your website again within hours! Read more >>
> Generate sitemaps for as many websites as you like. Save your individual website crawl configurations for next time.
> All done in a couple of minutes.

There is a Free Mode to try; 500 URL's max. Standard Edition USD$49.00 and Pro Edition USD$69.00.
Something more advanced to consider.

Hi off topic a bit

but google 73 Performance
51 Accessibility
86 Best Practices
Google test with lighthouse says
Text-based resources should be served with compression to minimize total network bytes. The Opportunities section of your Lighthouse report lists all text-based resources that aren't compressed:
Text-based resources should be served with compression (gzip, deflate or brotli) to minimize total network bytes

is there a comand for this in the program or updaters i can turn on or add code and if so where is it and where would i add it

There is no built in facility for that, but I'm sure there are tools out there online.

My personal advice, don't do it.
Your gains will be almost nill and your headaches will be the opposite.

Hi Ian,
You can activate gzip compression and deflate by adding entries to your .htaccess file. Read this forum post …

Make your website pages load faster =>

However, please do note that code is for Apache Servers, not Windows ASP.
This is an advanced topic and I recommend that you ask your web host to do it for you.
