I just can't win this week. As soon as I get my WP dynamic home page set up and it's working well, then something else causes a problem.

Wordpress admin told me my php was out of date and I should update. I decided to test this on my smaller, less active site https://www.SharonChinn.com so I went into my ServeLink control panel and upgraded to php 8.0 and now my Dynamic Home page is putting out an error.

. htmlspecialchars($alt). ' is showing above the About and News sections.

How do I fix this? I want to get it worked out before I apply a php update to my DecorativePaintingStore.com.

Hi Sharon
Sorry about that but I think that problem is fixed now so could you get a new copy of the ECT Widgets from here...
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/free_downloads.asp#wordpress
...and if that doesn't help, please send me the site FTP login details.

Thanks Vince! Looks good again.

Before I update the PHP on my other site, is there a preferred version of PHP to move to? On my SharonChinn.com site I first moved it up to 8.2.12 which is the most current, but when I saw the problem I backed it down a couple levels to 8.0 to see if that helped. I'd rather move to the most current so I don't have to think about it for a while.

Didn't work. When I update my site DecorativePaintingStore.com to PHP 8.2, I'm getting this major error, so I put it back to PHP 7.2.34 . And just a note that I did update the ECT Widgets with those you had me download the other day. I did notice when replacing the widgets that some of the ones that were already on my site had were dated 2023, but the ones I recently downloaded were a mix of dates - 2021 and 2 or 3 dated 2023.

Hi Sharon
This seems to be one of your plugins that is complaining...
slideshow-jquery-image-gallery
Could you check if you've got a plugin with a name something like that and see if there are updates?
I've just double checked the cart on PHP8.2 and everything seems to be ok by the way.

Yes, that is the slideshow that I had been using on my Tempera Presentation page for several years. I checked and now deleted the plugin because it appears to have been discontinued, but I had never gotten a warning about it before. After deleting it and upgrading to current PHP, everything still seems normal.

Thank you!
