How do i select 3 specific products I want only to show on the home page. I already have many recommended products that are selected with the Related button.

How do i choose the 3 that I want to appear on the home page as recommended? I have many related products which are associated with a particular product. I do not want any of those to appear on my home page. How do I select the 3 products that I want to appear on the home page?

Tick the "recommended" box in the admin for that product.

Thanks,
David

How do I control the order of the products, not random?

You can set the order in the code that calls up the products.
See the bottom of this page

Hi David,

I see how I can select the category but I do not see how to sort the order of the products. I even created a separate category called Recommended then added the 9 products from different categories to it and sorted the products in that category but still seeing randomizing of the 9 products.

So you probably have

$orsortby=13;
$crosssellsectionmax=9;

The $orsortby=13; is what creates the random.

Try any one of these instead.
$orsortby=1; // list your products alphabetically
$orsortby=2; // Sort by product ID
$orsortby=3; // Product Price - Ascending
$orsortby=4; // Product Price - Descending
$orsortby=5; // No order - fastest display
$orsortby=6; // "Product Order" value from the product admin - Ascending.
$orsortby=7; // "Product Order" value from the product admin - Descending.
$orsortby=8; // Date added - Ascending.
$orsortby=9; // Date added - Descending
$orsortby=13; // Random order
$orsortby=14; // Sort by SKU - Ascending
$orsortby=15; // Sort by SKU - Descending
