Hi all,

I lost a 2K CC chargeback dispute with Paypal (Actually the CC Bank/issuer)

Even tho my website terms say all sales final, no returns etc.
All orders are Built to order / Durable goods.
(Supposedly durable goods are not subject to CC Chargebacks, and if that is so I want to implement what I need to achieve this)

For some reason I am losing, in this case they didn't even send the cases back just did the chargeback.

Is there a way to put a box on the Cart page where they have to sign the all sales final box before cart will take orer?
Plus send a screenshot to me of the checked cart page?

Any other ideas?

Merritt

Hi Merritt, it sounds like this may have been a scam and an order placed with a stolen card.
Have you been able to determine that?
Rather than make the changes you are wanting, which I think will not prevent a dispute, it's probably better to enlist some best practices to detect fraud and cancel the order before processing.

Are there any red flags on this order?

Thanks,
David

After getting hit with some expensive chargebacks several years ago we made it a policy to "sanity check" all orders for reasonable mix of goods, and we disabled countries like Russia with too many fraud attempts.

We still get up to one or two chargebacks per year, mostly from crooked service contractors and businesses under financial stress. Regardless of whether you prove delivery, the payment card company always seems to side with the buyer.

One plumber had the chutzpah to call us for help using his product after we paid a chargeback for "non delivery" of it a year earlier.

The Repeat Customer Indicator from DLSS, along with notes we keep in the Private Order Status field, help us avoid shipping to customers with past chargebacks or return abuse. Some seem genuinely surprised when we cancel their order.

Paypal will 100% of the time side with the buyer.

Ive sold things that were returned, totally damaged by the user. They gave them the money back.
