I've had contempt for web-based AI tools long before Google began to produce so many authorative-sounding, completely bogus "AI Overview" results with its search engine.

Worse yet, Google AI initially stated in our store reviews that we're a service contractor you could hire to clean your toilets - as opposed to our original, correct description as a manufacturer of drain cleaning tools.

But as stated in another thread, some colleagues have suggested potentially useful applications for the free version of ChatGPT:

1. As a starting point to write chatty, engaging Facebook posts based on our existing Web content;

2. As a way to re-write customer service emails we ocasionally send to difficult buyers, making the text seem more conversational and less abrupt.

Has anyone else found useful applications for web-based AI tools?

With one of my companies, we have 150,000 email subscribers and use constant contact and we use their AI tool (same as you) to rewrite email copy before sending campaigns.

I personally would like to find, or develop a new chat bot for my site that uses AI.
I had one company show me a demo of this at a price of more than 2k per month.
Had to pass on that price..

I've always been infuriated by customer service chatbots - asking for information already provided and giving useless, perfunctory answers.

It would be interesting to find a live website with that company's AI chatbot to see how useful it is.

The one I got a demo of was pretty awesome.
If you asked about a product, it would respond with details or search results.
But I am not willing to pay thousands a month for something like that right now.

On a trial basis, we’re paying the $20 per month for the "full" ChatGPT. We've been surprised by how well it can smooth out our blunt customer support emails – to a point.

Today, the Monday after a holiday weekend, we’ve been hit with a wave of "Customers from Hell."

One customer has repeatedly demanded that we ship by UPS to his US Post Office – a scenario that has left us stuck with unrecoverable two-way shipping and redirect fees in the past.

He keeps sending ever nastier emails, and we've asked ChatGPT to help us reply with ever-sweeter and softer language, in hopes of calming him down.

The result? The kinder the responses, the madder he becomes. He is now threatening to post on every corner of the Internet that our company sucks.

Ha! we get this sometimes too.
I'm afraid we have had to fire a few customers and drop them in the "8th realm of hell" status we created for customers like this...
Too many people out there will say things behind a keyboard they would never say in person.

Recently a few customers that came with with aggressive emails and I immediately call and announce I am the president of the company..
For the most part they seem to calm down so we can have a decent conversation regarding the issue.
I will lean on this more to see if it helps.
