This question isn't specifically for WP users, but didn't see a category for generic general questions. I occasionally have a customer phone in with an order and I find it easier to enter their order through my website as we are talking so it can calculate totals with options, discounts, shipping, etc., then input their payment info and process it. But some of my elderly customers don't have email addresses. I had one today and couldn't figure out how to set an account up for her without an email address, so I made up a 'fake' one and hope there isn't someone out in the world that has that email.

My question is... is there a right way that I can set up a customer account without an email address?

I think most online systems just assume that everyone in the world has an email address and so maybe the system you use is a good idea for the odd occasion that this crops up.
