I starting a new site for a business that is going to be used internally and available for employees only. It will be mostly used for rewards where employees can get codes to spend in the online shop but there will be a small selection of items that require payment. Can I use the personal Paypal account of the person I'm working with (she would settle things with their accounting) or is it required that a Paypal Business account is used?

To connect via PayPal Checkout I believe it is a requirement that you have a business account as I suppose the theory goes, why would you be connecting an online store with a personal account. So yes, it has to be business I'm afraid.
