Good eveing

I am having intermittent problems with the checkout process. I can add to cart, fill our address etc, update shipping estimator, select payment option and so on. When it then goes to the pay page it comes up with a message stating 'we are having technical problems' and won't let my customers pay.
It now works okay as I have just received an order. But over the past week I have had 7 failed order due to this issue.
I am assuming as it is intermittent there is nothing wrong with my web, could this be a server side issue?

Hi Tim, if you are using IP blocking in the vsadmin/includes the parameter will apply to you when testing the site for problems. It will also apply to customers that have attempted X number of transactions depending on what is set=

To limit the number of transactions in a 24 hour period per IP set:
$blockmultipurchase=10;
...where 10 here is the maximum number of purchases by that particular IP address in 24 hours.

Just looked in folder and not using IP Blocker. Any ideas on what else it could be?

I'm guessing Sagepay or PayPal are in use here. I'd recommend an update to cart version 6.8.2 which includes a clever fix to help deal with retarded payment processors. I expect it will solve your issue

This was happening to one of my clients sites about 12 months ago and it was down to the blockmultipurchase in the include.php file. Since that has been removed the site has never had a recurrence of that issue.

I use ASP cart. Can I use this - $blockmultipurchase=10; or some other parameter to block the number of transactions during the day irrespective of IP address.

No, it doesn't do that I'm afraid, it targets multiple transactions from the same source.

Thanks. Is there some way we can define countries that we allow or not allow by setting IP address. Admin portal allows entering only specific IPs. I am thinking there may be some add on for this.

You can set IP ranges which you could tailor to specific countries internet providers, but really this would take months and be hit and miss. And then I'm afraid the ones that want to cause mischief would just spoof their IP anyway.
