I have seen several posts on this issue of the tracking number not being retained and the "unknown" solution, unless you are on v.6.8.3, is hitting the Return key. That said, I have so many orders that I did not realize the tracking number was not being saved, and only realized it when I went to look up a tracking number. From a user's point of view, this is not a sensible action for saving the tracking number. It should save onblur, tabbing out of the text field, or simply moving the cursor. Bottom line, not knowing about hitting return has really caused a big inconvenience, not to mention not knowing if customers got the tracking number when the Your Order has Been Shipped email.
