i have had several clients that cannot login to the cart. I have tried creating or updating a login as well and it wont get past popup screen. I can login from the admin panel to the clients account though.
http://www.mirart.com/clientlogin.php

any ideas. it was working but only in the last week or so stopped selectively, and now it doesnt work at all.
I havent changed anything on my end since the last upgrade after it was released.

Hi Jeff

I was able to log in fine, is this an intermittent problem or are you always seeing it? Anything particular about the people who couldn't login, are they old existing clients or new ones with a new login?

This has been happening intermittently for us too, but until now, I hadn't been able to replicate the problem myself. New customers can't create logins, and existing ones (at least some) cannot login either. I have just tested this with my own login that I know works, and also tried repeatedly to create a new login on my site with a new email address. In both cases, the popup box gets the "processing" circle going around for a half a second, an then simply goes away, leaving you at the login/registration screen. This can be seen (at least at the moment) here: http://www.meeplesource.com/cart.php

Thanks,
Chris

Chris, I just went to your link and when I click on one of the fields to enter data, firefox is giving me a warning it's not secure.

More and more, browsers are forcing (or alerting) users when forms are not secure.
I am curious if this is a default browser setting that is rejecting your customers input when the form is not secure.

I switched the .htaccess files and now the whole site is https://. Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks all for the help!

Have you tried logging in as the customer having a problem to see if you can replicate it, I don't see the problem on your site with the login I have.

Andy,
Thats the problem. it is intermittent. We hadnt had an order in 2 days then yesterday we got an order. Could this be something on GoDaddy's side? What should i ask them at their tech support?

Hi Jeff,

I have a client with exactly the same issue who are also with Go Daddy, their site does NOT have the same issue on my servers. I just created an account on your site and tried to login and it's exactly the same.

You try to login on the pop up and it just refreshes with the login user and password still there.

The client has contacted Go Daddy support and they're blaming the software. Let me know if you get any further with them, it's definitely their end.

I remember a few years ago that some Godaddy users had problems with aggressive server side caching - it was widely reported at the time. I'm wondering if this is something similar.

Hi Andy,
Based on the symptoms of the issue that does sound like it could possibly be the problem. This particular client is also on WP

I've checked the .htaccess file and there's nothing in there apart from the standard set up. I've also logged in to the host control panel and there's nothing like cloudfare enabled in there either or any of the plugins which I disabled as a test anyway so I asked her to contact support.

Just got off the phone with godaddy. They said that i am on an older platform shared server with linux, and the max PHP version i can use is 5.6
They suggest i go to their newer cpanel servers that are currently using PHP 7.1 and will always be up-gradable in the future.
They said there is also a newer technology in responsive design (which is what i thought we had).

BUT they dont know if this will resolve my problem.

Any thoughts?

I think that's irrelevant and doesn't help at all. Often with Godaddy a support ticket needs escalating to get past their first level of support.

Thanks for replying. Totally agree with Andy - you need to get past that first level. But if you're in a position to upgrade to 7.1 it maybe worth a try, I couldn't do this for my client because they have a Wordpress plugin that is not compatible with PHP 7.1

Todays update:
spent 90 min on phone with tech support, up to level 3.
they couldnt find anything because there is no error message.
They put error logs onto my root directory and we can check them to see if that gives us any insight.
Andy - you should still have root access to my server via ftp:
if you want to check the logs maybe it can shed some light.

PS i will be moveing to thier new platform.
I will start moving files over this weekend and can test it at new.mirart.com

I don't save FTP details so haven't got those I'm afraid. If you're changing server tomorrow, can you run a test on the login (or ask me to try it) and we'll see if that has made a difference?
