The site will work without an issue, then out of no where this will randomly pop up within the database pages:

Warning: mysql_connect() {function_mysql-connect}: Too many connections in /home/suffolkm/public_html/vsadmin/db_conn_open.php on line 14 You need to set your database connection in vsadmin/db_conn_open.php

We spoke with the server/hosting technicians several times and they are confident that the issue is within the coding, not based from the server connections. If the server was having issues, then the whole page would not load.

Please let me know if you have an ideas as to what is happening with the site.

Hi

If it was a problem with the coding then 100s (1000s) of sites would have the same problem and nobody else has reported an issue that I'm aware of. My guess is you are on a shared server with a large number of other sites and the resources for your site are quite limited.

Yes, all sites are on a shared server.

We have two sites that were recently updated with the newest ECT version and they are the only ones receiving these warnings.

Could it be based on the update from an very old VSDAMIN?

I know of other sites using an old VSADMIN they do not have these random warnings.

I'd assume things would be working better if you have updated so that may just be a red herring. It's hard to say but the sites with errors may be sharing space with different sites than the ones not showing any errors. You don't have any third party of custom mods, do you?
