v6.9.4 www[dot]industrialmatsonline[dot]com/WaterHog_Classic_Entrance_Mat
This product has 3 dependent options.
First select the width which will give you a 3', 4' or 6' size option.
Second select the Size which will give you the appropriate colors option.

Each of these are set up the same Width > Size > Color
However, while the 3' width displays Width > Size > Color,
the other two display Width > Color > Size even though everything is set up identically.

Any ideas?

Hi Marshall

If I remember rightly the display depends on the order they were set up / assigned. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Yes. But they are not displaying in the order I set them up. All should be Width > Size > Color, but the latter 2 display Width > Color > Size even though they are set up Width > Size > Color. I even unassigned all the options, deleted the top level one 'Width' then recreated the dependencies thinking that would clear the original setting. No joy.

I'm not sure why that should be then. If you'd like to email me the control panel details, I can take a look.

I checked your set up and it looks fine. I then set up a similar example on my test site and the order is fine for me.

Here's what I did in case your process was a bit different.

1. Set up the main Width option with 3 options, 3, 4 and 6"
2. Set up the size options for 3"
3. Set up the color options for 3"
4. Set up the size options for 4"
5. Set up the color options for 4"
6. Went back to the base option and added the 4 dependent options in the order above and submitted. Checked the detail page and they appeared in the order I expected.

That sounds like exactly what I did. Makes no sense to me. But it is occurring on the five pages I did yesterday, not just the one I posted as an example. And one more thing that is weird, on one page it might go
Width > Size > Color (correct)
Width > Color > Size (Wrong)
Width > Color > Size (Wrong)
and on another page it will go
Width > Size > Color (correct)
Width > Color > Size (Wrong)
Width > Size > Color (correct)
Mind you, these are five different pages with different dependent options, but the principle of the options are identical. I will keep experimenting to see if I can resolve the problem.

I just tried clearing all the dependent options then adding one at a time saving the changes after each addition (see OP for URL). They still display
Width > Size > Color (correct)
Width > Color > Size (Wrong)
Width > Size > Color (correct)

SOLVED!

I was looking at the source code and noticed the color option for choice 2 was not there. I presume since the color options for choices 1 and 2 are the same same, the cart did not repeat the order. In effect, the source code had
Width
Size 3'
color 3'4'
Size 4'
Size 6'
color 6'

I solved the problem by saving the Color dependent with 2 different names, though the colors are identical. Now it displays properly. Still, i do not understand why it would not display say
Width
Size 3'
Size 4'
color 3'4'
Size 6'
color 6'
since the color came after the size.
