Hi Guys
I've tried to upgrade a test version of one of my sites (before doing the live version) and run into a problem. The URL is http://superflex.p2net.co.uk. There is quite a bit of custom css in the site - hence the reason for the test version, but the first thing that happened was that I got:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ''xxTot' (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE), expecting ']' in /home/superflex/public_html/vsadmin/inc/languagefile_en.php on line 537

I can't see any error there so I commented it out and the pages appeared to work, but I can't add anything to the cart and basically it's just not working. Clearly I've done something VERY wrong but I can't see what it is.

I've tried running the update again, and checked for ectcart.js and ectcart.css but it's just the same.

Any ideas?

Hi Eric

What do you have in languagefile_en.php on line 537?

In the 7.0.1 updater that should be

$GLOBALS['xxTotYes']='Total yesterday';

That seems a very random line to throw an error. As a quick test if you comment it out

//$GLOBALS['xxTotYes']='Total yesterday';

Does that clear things up or does the error move to a new line?

Hi Andy

If I comment out that line, the pages load (sort of) but the cart doesn't work example: http://superflex.p2net.co.uk/products.php?cat=11

This is only a test site, so I know a lot of the product images are missing, but it should be functional. I can't even access the control panel. I just get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/superflex/public_html/vsadmin/inc/languageadmin.php on line 744

Thanks

Eric

That page looks like the whole of language file is missing.

What version of PHP is running on that server as it needs to be 5.6 or above?

It shouldn't effect the language file but can you double check the syntax in includes.php and db_conn_open.php

Hi Andy

Actually, the site seems to have refreshed and appears to be working OK with line 537 of the language file commented out.

Except the login doesn't work. I still get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/superflex/public_html/vsadmin/inc/languageadmin.php on line 744

...and if you put that line back and force a refresh does it then show correctly?

Hi Andy

Sorry, no. The mini cart and mini login bits in the side panel work but I can't seem to add anything to the cart, and I still get the same error on the control panel login.

Could it be that the disk space is full - does deleting stuff remove the errors?

Hi Andy

There's plenty of disk space. I think that something must have got corrupted - I'll roll back and go through the update again - but it might take a while. It's just as well it wasn't the 'live' site.
