The v6.9.6 updater is now available for ASP / PHP.
The following changes have been made...

Please note that you can upgrade from any previous version to the latest version in just one go! You don't have to install all updaters between your version and the current version.

These issues have also been fixed in the v7.0 release, for which the release notes will be posted shortly.

Authorize.net are removing support for MD5 based hashes at the end of this month (January 2019) and this release provides support for the new Sha512 based hash that will be supported going forward. In this version of the cart both MD5 and Sha512 hashes are supported so your cart will not stop functioning after updating. After updating you are advised to set up a Signature Key which will be used to create the new Sha512 hash and there are instructions on this page as to how to create this Signature Key...

Google analytics markup could be generated even if an order was not successful and this could cause problems especially when the thanks page was saved in the browser (often on mobile) as it could cause an error, or alternatively a sale could be registered in the Google Analytics that did not take place.

Previously it was possible to set a product option to be both a multiplier option and a date picker option, and now in the case of a date picker option the "multiply" setting is ignored.

PHP Mailer support is provided in the cart, but also when using Wordpress some plugins can also provided support for PHP Mailer, and this could cause conflicts so a check is now made in the cart to see if the PHP Mailer libraries have already been included.

We've released a Hotfix today to resolve the following issues.

These issues have also been fixed in the v7.0.4 release, for which the release notes will be posted shortly.

In the ASP version only there is a problem where a function that decodes URL parameters would also decode beyond the range of printable characters. This can then be used to craft a URL that can cause a database error. While not really a security issue (as nothing can be injected into the database string as far as we are aware) this is a serious issue and we do recommend applying this update.

Files affected: incfunctions.asp

When checking out, if the total cost is zero then the payment processor is bypassed and the email method is used for checkout. If reCAPTCHA is enabled for the email payment method then the reCAPTCHA entry is displayed but in this case it would cause an error and this has now been fixed.

Files affected: inccart.asp/php

Some javascript errors in the Database Utility have been fixed.

Files affected: incdbutility.asp

We've released a Hotfix today to resolve the following issues.

For those using the Currency Converter for currency rates, we have used up till now a single "test" account but from now on you will be required to set up your own ECT Account as detailed below. Given that the login and password is a personal one, we have made changes to the Admin Main Settings page so the password is not displayed on that page, (as per your email password if set.) Please note however, it is still best practice not to use the same password for access to all your web accounts. The "testuser" login will be expiring soon so please do set up your ECT Account now.

Files affected: vsadmin/inc/incmain.asp/php

Here are more details for the ECT Account
For the currency converter access to rates was provided by the test login and password, "testuser" and "testpw" but this is going to be phased out soon and you will be required to set up and ECT Account which will also be used for the App Store Notifications. Registration is very simple, you can find the account page here...
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/account.asp
We have provided a corresponding help file here...
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/ect-account-help.asp
Please do set up an ECT Account as soon as possible if you use the currency converter (or wish to use the new Ecommerce Templates App) as the testuser / testpw login will be expiring soon.
