Question...

I added the two extra fields to the "New Customer Sign Up Form". I will be using the data from those fields inside my clients ecommerce system. Now we have to get all existing customers to add their personal information into those fields to be used on the website.

Is there a setting I haven't found to all adding a "Edit Existing Customer Information" button to the login screen form that would allow customers to update or change their customer information? I know the admin can existing customers information but can the customer edit their own information?

Please respond ASAP. My client is bugging me to death on this.

Hi Ray
There isn't a button to direct the customer to edit their account on login, but all it needs really is for you to add a link to the customer account page somewhere on the site, no?

When you go to your customer account page after logging in the two new extra fields that were added to the new account form are not on the page to allow updating the two new fields data. The fields appear on the new account form registration form but are not found in the customer admin area.

Can you add those two extra fields (if activated by the admin) into the customer admin area?

Hi Ray
Sorry I missed this first time but you are correct, the extra fields are not in the account edit page. I've added them to the beta for now and will get the changes into the next updater.

Just copy the incclientlogin.php page from the Beta to your site.

Is there info on adding extra fields?

Don't see anything in the help section under Customer Login.

Hi Julie, it's listed in the parameters page.
Here are the asp goodies
quote:
Extra client login fields (Minimum version 6.3.0)

It is possible to add two extra fields to the client login admin and account. You can define these in vsadmin/includes.asp with the following...

extraclientfield1
extraclientfield2

If you want to make those required fields you will also need...

extraclientfield1required=TRUE
extraclientfield2required=TRUE
