Hi, After my most recent update, Paypal no longer works on my website. Is there something I am missing and need to do to get it to work again? Please advise.

Thanks,
Eddie

Hi Eddie
How does it not work? Do you get an error message for instance?

I see orders being made on the admin but none process. Also I lost the ability to accept email checkouts as well. Everything seems to have disappeared and I can't seem to figure out how to bring it back.

Not sure what happened. I update the software on Friday and it appears the checkout option no longer works for both Paypal and Paypal credit cards. Waiting to hear from my customers on what issues they are encountering

Hi Eddie
Have you tried looking at the payment providers page to see if there are any changes?
Also, have you tried checking out yourself to see if you get any problems?

I've made not changes to my payment providers as of late. When I switch PayPal Direct Payments & PayPal Express Payments to sandbox though it gives me no options for payment at all!

I was looking over your setup instructions Here https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/paypal.asp and I noticed your transaction type has it set to authorized while I have it set to sale. Would that make a difference?

Hi Eddie
It shouldn't do . . . but do try this yourself. It's much quicker for you to try a quick test than to ask us.

So what do you recommend I do to place an order? Your application does not allow me to place an order using my Paypal account. I cannot change the settings to Sandbox and the email option and Paypal in general option do not appear? I'm stumped

I looked at the link in your first post and when I click the paypal link it takes my off to Paypal as expected.
However that is Paypal express showing.
You haven't mentioned what paypal services you are using.
I only see paypal express and paypal credit buttons.

You mention email as a payment provider. Have you check the payment providers in your admin to be sure email is active?

Hi Eddie
Maybe it would be easier if you sent me the site FTP and admin login details to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com) and I'll look things over for you.

One of my customers came back with this information.

"I can't seem to finish the check out process...It's asking for a phone number. I enter it, but there's no button to proceed"

I updated the css file as I always do so not sure what's going on

This is what I checked first as it is the easiest to check I guess, and sure, the checkout button was missing and should have been there as you have PayPal Standard and Email like you say. The strange thing is that the inccart.php script had been edited to replace the checkout image with a # instead of its location. The ectstyle.css had been edited so that the checkout button didn't display AND on top of that the images/checkout.gif had been renamed to checkout.gif.bak so that it couldn't be found. Is there an explanation for all of this?

Probably because it's been renamed to checkout.gif.bak. It should appear now though.

The checkout image appears to be broken so I tried to comment it out and back up the broken image. I see the css styling in place and did not want the image to display.

I just checked the cart page and the options still don't appear

I think what you need to do is check in your vsadmin/includes.php file for the following:

$imgcheckoutbutton = "images/checkout.gif";

and change it to

$imgcheckoutbutton="button";
