We are in the process of setting up an internet business that will sell a product line which is still in it's infancy. As such most banks and credit card processors will not touch it currently. Square has a program where they are taking companies in this space. Therefore, I would need to be able to set up Square as a payment provider. Currently it is not listed. Have you crossed this processor before and can it be run through the current system.

I'll have a look at this for you but it may take about a week to get started as I've got a few things on right now. Another thing is the API's they have may or may not support Classic ASP. Just something to bear in mind.

Vince, thank you so very much. I think more and more people will use SQUARE as they take product categories that other processors routinely turn down. Additionally, there rates are reasonable. I look forward to your completion.

I've finished the PHP side of things so it's just a case of converting this to ASP now and I should be done today or early tomorrow. Would you be willing to give this a try out for me? There seem to be some differences with the Sandbox and live accounts and after talking to their support it seems order details that don't appear may well do so when live.

I will be more than happy to load it up on the site. However, please remember that we are not ready to go live yet as we have a lot of work yet to do. I could load a few low price items and just try it then refund it through the site. However I can help I am glad to.

I'm sending you the updater now with the changes but here are the instructions for obtaining your Application ID and Access Token

To obtain your API application information:

Go to https://squareup.com/developers.
Click Developer Dashboard.
Click on + New Application.
Name the application and click on Create Application.

If you have any problems, please let me know.

I have checked repeatedly and my Application ID and Access Token are exactly what is given for Sandbox testing. I am not able to get any charge authorized in sandbox.

I changed your credentials for mine and tried a test transaction and that worked ok. Then I put yours back and that worked ok too. So I'm not sure now if it was working anyway but it seems to be now.
For testing by the way, use the test card no.
4111 1111 1111 1111
CVV - 111
Date - 11/21
With SquareUp you can test error conditions by using other CVV codes etc.

Thank you very much. In sandbox mode it works very well. Tomorrow we are going to try a couple small real charges. You early attention to getting this done is most appreciate. As in every other time I have had an issue over the past 12 years you guys have been there. You always go above and beyond. I hope that other companies having trouble with card processing will get good use out of this.

Hi all!

I'm thinking of switching over to Square.... I created a new app and entered the production ID/Token into Admin.

I'm trying to test this using Demo mode and my cart keeps showing Total Goods $0.00? On the Payment Screen it's not showing a pay button or boxes? Same when I make it live.

I have it on Demo Mode, Payment is Credit Card with no image.

If you click on PayNow - I get a broken image and greyed page?

Ugh... I figured it out... I had to clear the IP block on myself!

Total goods are now showing... and I can enter the test card.

When testing you have to use the sandbox ID/Token, got that. So I have that info entered but it's asking for a postal? What should I put there? I used my zipcode and the page went to a greyed out screen with a broken image icon. Then it went to the thanks page.

Also what is Buy with G Pay? Is that just in the demo mode?

I turned off Demo, kept the Sandox ID/Token.. did a test order, this time I got the Request not authorized.

How are we supposed to test this? I'm confused.

One last try with no success.

I set ID/Token to production values, enabled checked, demo off, authorize only set.

Did an order for 1 cent using a valid credit card.

After clicking on Pay $0.01 Now - Got the greyed out page & broken image box, then it went to the thanks page. Order email came through, Customer email came through.

Order shows as New in Order Admin.

But nothing on the Square Dashboard. No Transactions in This Time Frame.

Gonna go disable it for now.

Are we supposed to put something in the Redirect URL on Square?

I didn't know there was a Sandbox dashboard??

But I put a live test order through and it is not showing anywhere in Square. Emails came though, New Order is in admin... but no where is the order showing in Square.

If you want to test a live order I have an item for 1 cent still up. Let me know and I'll reactivate SquareUp payment. It's set for Authorize, not capture.

I found the Sandbox Dashboard and it shows the 1 test order I did earlier.

It's kinda weird as it shows NO Transactions but then it says 1 transaction in this period was not processed.

So I went back to the regular dashboard... and now that says the same thing - 1 transaction in this period was not processed.

I guess you have to go to Reports, then Transaction Status...click not charged to view any pending orders. It doesn't list them by order# or name... just by date & time. And there is no way to view anything - just a button to Cancel or Charge.

So I guess it works - I'm a little worried about the greyed out page & broken image before it goes to the thanks page, though.
