I've added the /froala folder to the vsadmin folder and $htmleditor="froala"; to the includes file but the editor doesn't show up. I looked at the page source code and don't see any reference to the froala javascript files in the page source. Is there a step I missed somewhere?

Try "CTRL + F5" keys together to refresh your browser cache.

Hi Also check that you do not have 2 references to $htmleditor= in the vsadmin/includes .

Also, if you happen to be logged in to a secondary, secret admin (not that popular these days), then be sure to install the editor there.

@itzap - I have tried refreshing the page but still doesn't work
@dbdave - no secret login
@sinbad - no, there's only one $htmeditor reference

Thanks to all that responded.

Hi durango, knowing there are no other reports of this, I would suggest that you go through it again.
Upload the froala folder via ftp to the vsadmin folder and check the dates on the server to be sure they are current. This ensures the files were copied over.

Next, check the includes file again, and upload to the server, making sure to replace the existing includes- checking the date on the server after upload.

Then check your admin to see if the editor is working.
In some cases, the editor does not appear until you click the textarea.

If not successful, post back and I expect someone here can help.

I'm having what might possibly be a similar problem, although the OP didn't say if he tried more than one browser.

I've added this to the includes.php inside the vsadmin folder -
$GLOBALS['htmleditor']="froala";
(It's a Wordpress site)

I have uploaded the froala files twice now using Filezilla. No secret admin thing. Double checked -- only one line to call an html editor in the includes file.

In Firefox, all I see is two long, skinny, empty boxes where the long and short descriptions should appear. Clicking in the boxes doesn't do anything. I have refreshed my Firefox browser cache several times and entirely deleted it once, with no change.

I viewed the same page in Microsoft Edge. The editor appears after a few moments and seems to work fine.

Went back to Firefox, cleared the cache, reloaded the page, and still no luck.

Regards,
DeeAnna

Hi DeeAnna
Can you send the site admin login to my email and I'll take a look.

Hi DeeAnna,
I've just installed it on a WordPress site here and it functions perfectly okay for me using Firefox version 73.0 which is the latest version.

Can you try this:
paste this in the address bar - about:preferences#privacy
click on privacy and security > manage data > search for the site domain and remove it

I remembered this morning to check whether I'd turned off the ad blocker I have running on Firefox. Sure enough, the ad blocker was the problem. I don't use Edge any more than I absolutely have to, so I don't have any addons installed there.

This is a new site, and I'd not thought to disable the ad blocker on this domain. Just to be on the safe side, I also followed your suggestion, Phil.

I hope the OP reads this -- maybe an ad blocker was their problem too.

Thank you, all, for your suggestions and support. --DeeAnna

I finally found the source of the problem. It was a browser plugin for a password manager. If I disable the plugin, the editor appears.
