I just updated to 7.1.8 (PHP), and I am this warning on every page:

Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /home/judgra1/compassrosefarm.com/ShowEntry/vsadmin/inc/incfunctions.php on line 13

Same thing for store admin pages.

Clicking on "add to cart" the first time got me a whole screenful of deprecated messages that vanished before I could copy them to look at them.

Any idea what this is all about?

Hi Judith,
Are you sure you have applied the updater fully?

Can you check that all the files have made it to the server in the correct location please by checking the last modified date on all the files in the /ShowEntry/vsadmin directory?

If you're still struggling click on my name and send me FTP details and I'll take a look for you as soon as I can

I'm thinking you are using PHP 7.4.x. That's a good idea because it's the latest, but ECT doesn't yet support it. If you back up a bit and switch to PHP 7.3.x for the time being you will get rid of those messages. At some point soon ECT will get updated and then you can move forward to PHP 7.4.x again.

The v7.2 line had the changes necessary for PHP 7.4 and I've now added these to the v7.1 line also. If you get a new copy of the v7.1 updater it should solve these warnings.

There you go then, it seems that the definition of "at some point soon" around here is 15 minutes

Yes, I was on PHP 7.4, I've set that back to 7.3 and try that way.

It seems OK that way, but why does the Store Admin pages no longer work with Firefox? Seems it now only works with Explorer.

Hi Judith
After the update there is a new style sheet for the admin. It's likely that you just need to do a <Ctrl>+F5 to force a refresh of this style sheet.

The problem with Firefox isn't the rendering of the page, the problem is that you Login, the page goes to "login Correct", and then puts you right back at login.php. It does not progress to the next page.

Does the same thing on Chrome. Works as expected on MS Edge.

I tried the CRTL-F5. Didn't do anything that I could detect.

I should add that I was seeing this problem recently BEFORE I updated the store. That was with version 6.8. It may be something in a Firefox update that broke things. But Chrome is broken in the same way.

Hi Judith

In Firefox go to the Tools Menu > Options. Down the lefthand side go to Privacy & Security scroll down to the heading Cookies and Site Data, usually the second heading down, then click on the Manage Data button and from the popup screen select the domain and remove. See if that solves the issue

Nope. That did not make a difference.

The fact that this same behavior showed up in Chrome makes me think this is deeper. I very rarely use Chrome, and when I did, it was the first time with this site.

Hi Judith
When I've seen this before it has come down to caching on the website. The problem is if you cache dynamic pages like .php pages then you end up seeing old copies and not what you really want to see. For instance, with the login, even though you have now successfully logged in, you see the old, cached, pre-logged in page. Can you ask your host if they can check if .php pages are cached as a first step and let us know if they can't help.
