Because of the lockdown, I have to issue refunds or vouchers to all the patrons of our children's theatre.

Initially we postponed our performances, and most ticket holders were content to wait, but as time goes on, we realize our current season is not going to restart, and we are offering patrons a choice of a refund or a "voucher" (i.e. gift certificates) that can be used in the future when we reopen.

So, I'd like to easily issue these without going through a payment processor. I know I can create gift certificates through the admin panels, but as far as I can tell, the details and code would then have to be emailed manually to the patrons.

If I go through the store, the email is automatic, of course. So, I thought I'd create a 100% discount and apply it to the gift certificate, but when I get to the payment screen, I see: "The discount number you entered (xxxxxx) was not found, has expired or is not applicable. Please click here if you wish to go back and try again."

Is there a good way to accomplish this?

P.S.: I don't have the line $noemailgiftcertorders="4"; in my vsadmin/includes.php

Nevermind:
I see there is an option to email the client when creating a gift certificate through admin. I just didn't notice it. Problem solved!
