I am looking for a hosting company that allows remote access to a SQL database. In a nutshell, I am testing a new software that will allow me & others to add/edit data via a desktop program for my dog database. I need to be able to connect to the database remotely. John M Advanced Member 457 Posts	Posted - 06/07/2020 : 14:21:00 Sign up to google cloud then add a LAMP Server on the smallest server tier which will give you a unique dB password then go to the firewall and add everyone’s IP address to port 3306 and off you go. Probably won’t cost anything. John

Not sure if that would have worked as the database was hosted on a server that would not allow any type of remote access. I went with A2Hosting for my hobby site.
