Shipping Est. Zip copies to Billing Zip

Marshall Ecommerce Template Guru USA 1874 Posts	Posted - 06/24/2020 : 08:59:34 Should the zip code entered in the shipping estimator on step 1 of checkout automatically copy to the billing address in step 2 as this zip code may NOT be the billing zip code? I had a client point this out and it is believed that customers are not catching that the wrong zip may be in the billing information and is contributing to unauthorized orders. Could it possibly be the auto-fill that browsers perform with addresses? Have you tried yourself? Vince Administrator 42470 Posts	Posted - 06/29/2020 : 04:08:30 Hi Marshall I got the login details and tried a test on your site as you mentioned, just to set the zip in the shipping estimator and then to proceed to the billing page. But I don't get the zip copied to the shipping details, only the billing details which is what I would expect. If I click the "ship to a different address" then the shipping zip is blank. Could it be that the address is remembered from a previous that you entered? Also, I'm assuming you are not logged in but please let me know if that's not the case. While the shipping and billing are generally always the same, for those times they are not, the customer may not catch that the wrong zip is in the billing information resulting in the purchase being unauthorized. I am suggesting that the zip in the shipping estimator not be auto copied to either the billing or shipping information.
