Hello
I created a link to a product range call Halbob.

I have a link Home Designer>All products>Halbob

When hovering the curser above the link Halbob I see
localhost/fb-design-responsive/Halbob

How/where can I apply a querystring?

Many thanks
John

Hi John,
Can you explain exactly what you're trying to do and is the site on your local machine or can we view the site at all?

1. Is the text 'Home Designer>All products>Halbob' the breadcrumb links on the category or product page?
2. What results are you wanting to return with your query string?

Hello,
Thanks for the reply,

I am getting to know things at the moment.
I have been working on my localhost but have now updated the remote server.

The site name is fb-design.co.uk

On the Home page click on the grey menu Products opens https://fb-design.co.uk/products.php
Halebob is the last product I entered. The text and images show OK.

Click on Departments and click Designers. Scroll down to Halebob link.
This brings an error url https://fb-design.co.uk/Halebob and seems to require a Query String.

My problem is I do not know where or how to create this.
I hope this is straight forward to understand.
Thanks and regards

John

Hi John, if you are trying to create links to various categories and products, you can just go to www.yoursite.com/categories.php and navigate to the products, or sub categories you want to link to and get the URL (with querystring) you want to link to from the address bar in your browser.
The querystrings are automatically generated by the software as you navigate the site.

Thanks,
David

Hello David
I get to the Halebob link OK but when clicked it shows as
http://localhost/fb-design-responsive/categories.php?cat=8

I think it needs to be
http://localhost/fb-design-responsive/categories.php?prod=8

How do I carry this out please?

Thanks
John

Hi John, you can't really create (make up) your own querystrings.
That wont work.

We touched on this in the other thread.
You can use categories.php?cat=8
or if you want to show the products there, you use products.php?cat=8

Thanks,
David

Thanks David for that valuable advice.
I am getting the hang of things gradually.
